If you’re looking to replace your current go-to headphones and want something that will last, these are a great option for hi-res wired and CD-like quality wireless listening. Even if the style isn’t for you, the functionality and versatility of these headphones deserves to be lauded.

That's the thing with the Codex Edition: it's like a 'Mark 2.1' version, missing the opportunity to add better still aptX HD or active noise-cancellation tech, swerving the use of USB-C with faster recharging, and not taking the time out to tweak the design for greater comfort when resting around the neck.
Still, if you like big bass, are on board with the industrial design (customised or not), then these V-Moda over-ears are formidable indeed.
For just a little more money, Bowers & Wilkins PX, and Sony/Bose offer far better battery life and active noise cancellation.
However, the V-Moda Crossfade II Wireless Codex Edition are up there with the best in terms of sound quality. They have a fun injection of powerful low bass combined with a great soundstage and very good mid-range texture.
