Three new over-ear DJ headphones are soon to be released from the headphone giant, Sennheiser. The HD8 DJ ($389), HD7 DJ ($329), and HD6 MIX ($280) all look very similar, but have slight differences. Namely, the HD8 and HD7 have swivels for folding up and one-ear listening, while the HD6 does not. Also, the HD8 has the best build quality, featuring lightweight metal and polycarbonate, while the lower end models have more plastic parts.
Here is a video introduction of the headphones from CES:
Key features include:
- Two detachable cables (straight and coiled) that can be plugged into either ear cup
- 1/4″ adapter included
- Two different pairs of ear pads
- Hard zipper case

I think these are welcome additions to the Sennheiser line-up, complementing the on-ear HD-25s. They look very comfortable and well-built. The next question is sound quality, and early reports have been positive. Anyone going to pull the trigger on these?
