Plantronics takes a stab at bluetooth IEMs with the BackBeat Go

Plantronics is not known for its headphones but certainly have a unique offering in the BackBeat Go almost wireless IEMs.

Features include a tangle-free cord, in-line volume controls, and a built-in microphone. The battery will last around 4.5 hours on a charge and 10 hours on standby. As for the calling features, the BackBeat Go has digital noise reduction and echo canceling.

I am hesitant to recommend these as the market is already swamped with quality IEMs in this price range, but if convenience is the name of the game and you often find yourself switching between headphones and headsets, these could be the perfect solution.

A downside is that you are only able to pair the bluetooth with one device at a time, so it seems like they could actually cause more hassle than wired headphones. But at least you won’t have to worry about the cable shorting out (which recently rendered my D2000s useless until I get them fixed… agh).

The BackBeat Go are available for $99 on the Plantronics website.
