Hype for FiiO’s latest portable media player, the X5, is at an all-time high. Last month, the product launched in China (FiiO’s home country), and now we have confirmation that the X5 will see a worldwide release sometime between March and April with a price tag of $400.
For those who haven’t been riding the hype train, the device was built from the ground up and offers tons of improvements over the FiiO’s last-gen player, the X3.

- 2.4″ IPS LCD display
- 3,700 mAh battery
- Inputs: Micro-USB, dual micro-SD card slots (up to 64GB per slot supported at launch, upgradeable in future via firmware upgrade)
- Outputs: Headphone out, line out, coaxial out (when plugged into your computer it can act as a DAC)
- File formats supported: DSD, APE, FLAC, ALAC, WAV, WMA, ACC, OGG, MP3, MP2
- 10-band graphical EQ
