1964Ears V6 custom IEMs available for $650 (limited introductory price)

| November 11, 2012 | 0 Comments

Word first broke of this headphone back in June, but 1964Ears says the V6 has been in development for 2 years. Released just last month, the V6 features a 6-driver, 3-way driver layout with two balanced armature drivers at each primary frequency range (lows, mids, highs).

Features and accessories are what you would expect of a high end CIEM:

  • Hyperallergenic, hard acrylic shells
  • 50″ or 64″ detachable cord
  • Carrying pouch
  • Large hard case
  • 3.5mm to 1/4″ adapter
  • Cleaning tool
  • Shirt clip

For a limited time, 1964Ears is offering the V6 for $650 before customization. It is unknown how long the “special introductory rate” will last so if you are interested, try to commit as soon as possible. If you are worried about the fit (custom IEMs require a trip to the audiologist for impressions), 1964Ears offers a 30-day fit guarantee.

User Mongo2112 over at Head-Fi was able to receive test units of the D, V3, and Q after contacting 1964Ears and making a deposit, so that might be worth a try as well if you are unsure or hesitant.

Are there any readers out there waiting for your V6’s in the mail? What made you choose it?
