1964Ears developing a six-driver custom

| May 5, 2012 | 1 Comment

1964Ears is a custom IEM manufacturer based in Portland, and user ericp10 over at Head-Fi is reporting that they are currently developing a six-driver custom. Their current headphones are tuned especially for on-stage performers, but this new model will allegedly be tuned more for audiophiles and casual listeners.

That is all we know right now… no word on whether it will be a hybrid BA/dynamic or pricing will look like. Basically, it’s just time to start getting excited. We should get an update in June as to the progress of the development (and hopefully a release date!).

The current 1964Ears lineup consists of single-driver BA customs all the way up to quad-driver BA customs, all with plenty of customization options. They also sell custom ear plugs and have a remolding service if you want to take a generic headphone and turn it into a custom.

They’ve been working on it for months already, they were waiting for parts last time I checked with them.
